5 ways to level-up with PowerPoint
We all know what PowerPoint is for, right? Endless slides of close-packed text with the occasional clipart piece added to “jazz it up”?
OK, so our clients know much better and of course we’re in the business of helping them create visually beautiful and engaging communications collateral. But did you know you can use PowerPoint for a whole lot more than presentation decks?
While it is important to use the right tool for the job as far as possible, whether that be InDesign, After Effects or even PowerPoint itself, there are some benefits to using this flexible tool for a range of non-standard uses as shown below.

While it is important to use the right tool for the job as far as possible, whether that be InDesign, After Effects or even PowerPoint itself, there are some benefits to using this flexible tool for a range of non-standard uses as shown below.
01
Social cards
Really well designed slides with some carefully considered transitions can be used to create visually impactful “animated” social cards for use on platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter. Get the right set of templates in place and you can really level up your social game while reinforcing brand consistency, without significant investment.
02
“Animated” videos
We’re all familiar with PowerPoint’s standard slide transitions - some better than others of course. But when used well, combined with high impact imagery, text and audio - you can create something that looks and feels very much like an animated video. Only much less complex, less time consuming and much more accessible for those inevitable last minute edits we all know the stakeholders will want.
03
Video display screens
Linking to point two, it is possible to create simple “video” pieces that can be used to play on a loop in reception TV screens, at conferences or events or anywhere you want to make an impact. With PowerPoint being so user friendly, you can quickly and easily update them to keep things fresh, or reinforce key messages around a particular event.
04
Surprisingly good pitch decks
Using PowerPoint for pitch decks is a tried and trusted method of showcasing your content. It allows for last minute edits, and can act as a more interactive experience for potential audiences if the pitch is being presented to a panel. With the appropriate use of animations, transitions, and of course, top notch design throughout, a powerful pitch document can easily communicate your company's key messages to a range of audience with ease.
05
Upping your self serve game
We’ve seen a big increase in clients wanting to be able to level-up their internal document production capabilities - without an associated hike in cost. A suite of killer templates, each designed for its own unique purpose, will help to gain buy-in from even the most skeptical internal clients.
